Lonny is a recognized leader in cybersecurity, with 36 years of Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) experience. His 21 years of service in the US Army and 15 years with the National Security Agency/Central Security Service (NSA) provide Lonny with unparalleled operational cyber experience. Joining NSA/CSS in May 2001, he served in leadership positions for his entire service at NSA in both the operations and the technical support, ranging from Office Chief, to running NSA’s counterterrorism effort, to Technology Director/CIO, and culminating as the Deputy Director of Operations.
At the forefront of our national intelligence mission, particularly in counterterrorism and SIGINT operations, Lonny dramatically improved the way the NSA collects, delivers and shares information in direct support of our nation’s decision makers and armed forces. He is a recipient of the 2006 Distinguished Presidential Rank Award and the 2013 DoD Distinguished Civilian Service Award.
In his current capacity, Lonny advises federal agencies and leading industry leaders on how to make their organizations more secure and resilient to cyber threats. He oversees a team of approximately 80 people in three separate focus areas: government services, government capability development, and a commercial cyber security effort, Domain5.
